Faculty, Academic Programs and Colleges

At UC Santa Cruz faculty direct the academic programs that are organized within divisions and departments and students are encouraged to begin exploring their academic interests with faculty as soon as possible.  For information on academic programs: http://www.ucsc.edu/academics/

All undergraduate students, whether they live on campus or not, are affiliated with one of ten residential colleges at UC Santa Cruz.  The college provides academic support through First Year Advising and throughout the student’s academic career, as well as organizes student activities, sponsors events that enhance the intellectual and social life of the campus, and houses students in small-scale residential communities.

Every college community includes students with diverse backgrounds and academic goals. A student’s college affiliation is independent of the choice of major, and assignments are based upon space availability and student requests: http://www.ucsc.edu/about/colleges.asp
