Study Plan - Undergraduate Responsibilities
Student Advising Process
- The colleges advise students on university, general education and college requirements, time to degree and other graduation requirements outside of major and minor requirements.
- Students seek advising from the faculty and the academic programs on major and minor requirements.
- For a double major or added minor, students must have approval from all programs, and provide one DECLARATION for approval (see student instructions).
- If an Extension of Enrollment is necessary to meet minimum requirements, students submit a Petition to Extend Enrollment, and a copy of the completed DECLARATION, to their college.
- To change a major, or to add a second major and/or minor, a new DECLARATION must be completed, starting with the college. To drop from a double major to a single major, or to drop a minor, contact the academic program directly.
- Students may not exceed 19 credits per quarter without prior approval of their college, and may select the UCSC General Catalog from which graduation requirements are met (subject to certain guidelines); consult The Navigator.
- Students are responsibility to verify all changes to his/her academic plan(s) on the Degree Progress Report and the Student Advising Summary.
