Getting Started in Plant Sciences: Fall 2024 Entering Transfers
🔙
Students are admitted to UC Santa Cruz with a "proposed major" in most cases, and later petition to officially declare the major. Admission does not guarantee acceptance into a particular major, although transfer students' records are screened for preparation for many majors at the time of admission. Junior transfer students must be formally declared by the deadline in their second quarter of enrollment.
Qualification requirements and/or prerequisites for the major: |
If you listed this major on your UCSC admission application, your record has been screened for major preparation. Review transfer screening and major qualification requirements in the General Catalog. |
Transfer students who intend to pursue this major should do the following prior to the beginning of their first term… |
Beginning in late June and early July (for Fall transfer students) EEB Advising will review your reported transfer course work and determine how it applies to your EEB major's requirements. EEB Advising will contact you via email. The email will include information on how your transfer coursework fulfills major requirements. We will suggest courses for your Fall enrollment, and invite you to make an appointment to talk with your EEB undergraduate advisor. |
...and should take these courses their first term: |
This plan is based on completion of all recommended transfer preparation course work. Please refer to the major checklist for a complete list of required courses. |
If unable to enroll in the courses listed above: |
Refer to the EEB enrollment web page for enrollment support. Contact an Ecology and Evolutionary Biology undergraduate advisor with additional questions. |
Special enrollment procedures: |
Enroll in classes during your online enrollment appointment time. Enrolling after your enrollment appointment time may limit the courses available to you. |
Although not required for the major, students in this major might benefit from: |
The suggested course load is two major classes per quarter; if students do not have additional general education requirements to satisfy, they can utilize the third course each quarter to pursue other interests, undergraduate research, internships, etc. Enrollment in more than two upper division major courses per quarter is strongly discouraged. |
