Degree Requirements
To qualify for a bachelor’s degree at UC Santa Cruz, all students must meet conditions that include completion of minimum credits, a residency requirement, a GPA minimum, university and general education requirements and completion of a major program of study. Requirements for each major and minor are outlined in the "Bachelor’s"and "Undergraduate Minors" sections of the UCSC General Catalog.
Additional information is provided through the links at left. The Planning section of this website includes tools you can use to plan for completion of your degree requirements.
If you have questions about completing graduation requirements, check with:
• Your major or minor advisor about all major or minor requirements, and
• Your college advisor about all requirements outside your major (college, university, general education, credit, grading, and residency requirements).
It's important to stay in touch with both your major and your college advisor, since each has expertise in different sets of requirements, all of which are important to your graduating.
