Visual and Performing Arts and Media

Students whose interests are focused in the visual and performing arts and media may choose to pursue UCSC majors in art, film and digital media, history of art and visual culture, music, theater arts, or art & design: games and playable media. In addition to the college core course, first quarter UCSC students enroll in two or more lower-division courses (1 - 99), totaling 15-19 credits, their first term.

INITIAL PLACEMENT

  • The Music Core Curriculum Placement Examination is required for all music majors. Before students begin their study of music theory, they take this exam. The exam is given each fall quarter prior to the start of classes.

QUALIFICATION FOR MAJORS IN THIS CLUSTER
